I got yer Commission, right here!
Yes indeed, I do take commission requests. But with 5 kids, a demanding job and way too many irons in the fire, free time can be a little difficult to come by. But it never hurts to ask. I really enjoy drawing classic characters, comic book cover recreations and cheesecake pinups! I generally do pencil sketches or inked pieces, but have also been known to do separate color prints to go along with the original.
Full-blown paintings are an option, but are also time consuming and fairly expensive. But if you're serious about commissioning a painting, let me know what you've got in mind. You never know... if I have the time to to it... well, never say "never!"
If you’re interested in inquiring about a commission, feel free to use the contact form to make your request. I’ll respond as soon as possible and let you know if I am available. Submitting request alone does not guarantee a commission. There is no obligation until I accept your commission and we agree on subject matter, price and payment terms. Keep in mind, the less involved the request, the less time it will require and the less expensive it will be! Also remember, this is a benevolent dictatorship here: I reserve the right to limit or even suspend the request list if I happen to be too busy. If I have a back log, I’ll reopen the request list when I’m caught-up.
So, if you’ve waded in this deep, feel free to take the plunge and contact me.
For the curious or uninitiated, I’ve included some examples of what a commission might look like:
- The first stage is the pencil sketch, or “pencils.”
- The second stage is the finished, inked version.
- The third stage is the colored print.
Depending on your preference, your budget, or my schedule, I can do anything from a simple pencil sketch to a finished, inked piece… or take even further and do a colored print to accompany the finished ink drawing.
- Again, I’ll do a drawing and ink it.
- Then I’ll recreate all the logos and cover text.
- After that, I’ll color the drawing.
- Finally, I can “weather” the cover to make it look vintage.
There you have it! If you have any questions, drop me a note! If you’d like to see more examples, swing on by the Galleria della Fun Stuff.
